John Hughes movies, an attractive video cast, and a song listeners are just dying to sing-along to formulates the perfect music video for artist Beau LePaige’s new single ‘Summer Song’!
It’s been a long time coming when it comes to an official full-production music video set for Beau seeing as he’s never done one for himself yet. You may recognize Beau from a small (actually gigantic) music video by country artist Hunter Hayes for his song ‘Invisible’ in 2014. When asked where the inspiration for the video came from, Beau stated that director Jerome Scott was the perfect fit for the job and everyone on the set felt the same feelings towards doing the song the justice it deserved.
When you watch the music video premiere below, you’ll immediately see the John Hughes inspiration behind the video as Scott and LePaige incorporated Hughes’ big hits such as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and The Breakfast Club. Having such an out of the ordinary theme the first thing that comes to mind is, “How did the John Hughes movie theme even come about?” Beau jokingly had a simple answer to that question: “I just wanted to wear the Ferris Bueller vest and show off my amazing dance moves”.
Even though Beau’s secret motivation was the “Ferris Bueller look”, when asked what truly inspired the video LePaige responded: “It was actually the director, Jerome Scott, and I’s passion for those movies that led us to doing this music video. I always loved the parade scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. To me, that’s one of the most iconic scenes to mash up my 2 loves, music and acting. We started there and then decided to pay tribute to all of the scenes from his movies that included music and memorable scenes that we could recreate visually in our own way. So many people have been touched by John Hughes’ movies and we really wanted to live up to that expectation and do something new with them.”
Along with the John Hughes movie theme LePaige had the help from some notable faces in the industry such as Stephen Lunsford from MTV’s Teen Wolf, Michael Vincze who was formerly in the indie rock band “The Mowgli’s”, and Andrew Callahan from MTV’s Faking It. This star studded cast paired with the perfect front girl, Kendall Custer, to portray John Hughes’ hits with Beau definitely will make a splash and a video to remember for years to come.
