Tenth Avenue North took over Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, Georgia last Friday night and to put it simply, it was a must-see show!
Tenth Avenue North is one of the most popular Christian bands in the world and they definitely proved why on their All The Earth Is Holy Ground tour stop in Atlanta!
Definitely an odd venue to be playing Christian music and worshiping Jesus but that didn’t even matter once the bands took the stage. Usually, the Variety Playhouse is a movie theatre-esque kind of venue with seating at the top of the venue and then general admission when you get down towards the stage area but it felt like the house of God once the music started to flow.
The best quote of the night was definitely from Tenth Avenue North frontman, Mike Donehey, when he said:
“I believe it doesn’t matter where you play or worship God, He is with you every single day and you don’t need to go to a certain place in order to praise and honor him.”
Sidewalk Prophets opened up for Tenth Avenue and set the perfect tone for the rest of the night as lead-singer David Frey‘s vocals literally shook everyone to their core (in a more than good way).
The guys performed hits such as “By Your Side“, “No Man Is An Island“, and “Love Is Here“. The amount of energy Mike Donehey has from the moment he bursts onto the stage to the moment he gets off is exactly why these guys are the best of the best in their respective field. I’ve never been to a concert where I’ve felt so much love and acceptance to just be myself and be completely crazy whenever I felt like it.
No judgement, just love and Jesus.
During intermission between band sets, Mike Donehey came out to speak to the crowd and talk about something him and the band were extremely passionate about. Donehey started by warming up the crowd and seeing how they were but then moved into the more serious subject of sponsoring a child in need from a third world country.
The guys of Tenth Avenue North have been sponsoring children for years on end and decided to take it upon themselves to reach out to their audiences and ask them to go and help others. Such an incredible thing these guys are doing for those who can’t help themselves due to their conditions. Donehey has the perfect delivery as he tells funny stories about his time helping in a third-world country and how in need these children actually were since he had the opportunity to see it with his own two eyes.

Overall, both Tenth Avenue North and Sidewalk Prophets put on amazing performances and I definitely can’t wait until they make their way back to Georgia! A must-see show!
